This is a very good compilation, including among its twenty tracks Selena's most popular songs as well as several that are not so well known. If you don't have any of Selena's music yet, this would be a great album to start with.

"For real, it is.Here's why it is: Only one remix, and it rocks. 19 non-remixed songs, only remastered for better sound clarity. All the tracks on this CD, from 1-19, are all on Selena albums recorded while she was still alive - Ven Conmigo, Entre a Mi Mundo, Live, Mis Mejores Canciones, Amor Prohibido. Including "Buenos Amigos," which was NEVER before on a Selena CD. If you wanted it, and you lived in the US, you either had to download it or order Alvaro Torres' album, "Nada Se Compara Contigo," which is an import. If you've never heard a thing by Selena, and you're curious enough to want to buy a CD of hers, buy THIS one. You will not be disappointed...unless you're looking for rancheras, which are NOT on this CD. Looking for rancheras, then see her CD "Mis Mejores Canciones - 17 Super Exitos.""

"If you have room in your budget for only one Selena CD, this CD is a good one to have. Personally, I prefer "ALL MY HITS, VOL. 1" because it includes the original version of my favorite "No Me Queda Mas" and does not include my least favorite "Techno Cumbia." However, if you really like or think you may really like Selena, then I would disagree that this CD is a good place to start. This is because all of Selena's original albums were so very good. Now that those original albums have been reissued, I would strongly suggest that you eventually add all of them to your collection, and avoid most of these new compilations as they contain very little that is new and are therefore unnecessary. The great thing about Selena's original albums is that nearly every song on them is just as good or better than the ones that keep turning up on these new compilations for the 5th or 6th time. I give this CD 5 stars because the music is so great, but you probably don't need it."
I love it, but...

"Every year since Dreaming of You in 1995, a new Selena compilation has been released. Sometimes I do think all of these CD's are a bit much, because the selections are almost always the same. Being one of the people who never knew of Selena until after her passing, I would love to hear some of her harder-to-find material (Sus Inicios/the Early Years, volume I compilation from 2000 was nice; but where are the others? Doesn't the "volume I" indicate a series with more to come)? Ones opens with "No Quiero Saber" from Ven Conmigo. Even though it says 2000 mix next to the song, it sounds just like the original version, which I actually prefer. The CD ends with a beautiful medley featuring "Si Una Vez," "Amor Prohibido (my favorite Selena number)," and "Como La Flor." You'll also find the ballad she did with El Salvadoran singer Alvaro Torres entitled "Buenos Amigos," and the Spanish version of "Dondequiera Que Estes" with the Barrio Boyzz (the bilingual version can be found on Dreaming of You). Nevertheless, all of these hits are wonderful and Ones is definitely a great starter CD for new fans, but I wouldn't have complained if the songs had at least been altered somehow and given a different flavor."
