"After two EP releases and the album "Succour" on the famous Warp label, Seefeel once again switched record companies and landed at Richard "Aphex Twin" James' Rephlex label. Unfortunately, "Ch-Vox" seems to be made of waste from the "Succour" sessions. In fact, three out of six tracks are hardly more than filler in order to make a short album (33 mins.) which is sold at full-price. "Utreat" has already appeared on their previous album. The static "Hive" and the very scarce "Ashdeacon" are among Seefeel's weakest tracks ever. "E-Hix" and the title track build up on layers of repetitive, alienated guitar riffs and provide a very intense atmosphere. "Net" is one of the greatest ambient soundscapes ever made, with a painful and mysterious melody set against a subtle, almost sub-conscious rhythm "net". Ultimately, one great track isn't enough to justify a four-star review. Well, if you're a completist, buy this album. Otherwise, I recommend you to spend your money on "Succour" and "Starethrough"."
