Delicate, tough and funky; yet it swings

"The summation of this album for me is in my title above. The album is the music from a ballet dance score commissioned by the gorgeous Vivi Flindt (take a gander at the cover- that is her!)and her then husband for their dance troupe in Copenhagen in the mid-70s. It is total Art-Rock, and should be avoided by anyone who is partial to Def Leppard records, the studied albums of Wynton Marsalis (who detests fusion) and checked out optimistaccly by fans of Weather Report, Mahavishnu, Yes, King Crimson, or even devotees of Duke Ellington or Maurice Ravel. I'd say this record has something in it for all those fans. It is also one of the best-sounding recordings to come out during this period, the sonics are comparable to Dark Side of the Moon. I also have always thought that the cover is one of the most gorgeous ever, and deserves to be ranked with sleeve art like Bowie's Alladin Sane or any of the early Roxy Music covers."

"This is the final work by Secret Oyster and it is a commisioned work for theater. With the help of a couple of outside musicians (notably Palle Mikkelborg...even though he is hardly ever heard here) this feels like a much more contrrolled album. Needles to say this is a bit more subdued work leaving behind a bit of the fusion extravaganzas of past albums. Some may like that and some may not. I for one enjoy this a bit more as it sounds more contemporary and mature. Recommended to fans of european jazz rock fusion (think Isotope, Perigeo, Mahavishnu, etc.)"
