"The other-worldly quality I like in the instrumental versions is considerably diluted by the addition of lyrics and these singers' voices. There's a sense that this album is attempting to manufacture pop songs from something much finer. An other-worldly singer like Enya or Loreena McKennitt might have lifted these songs to a different level.
But I don't want to overstate this criticism. This is a very pleasant-sounding album, and I believe fans of Secret Garden will enjoy it.
Since it is a standard, single CD, the price seems unreasonably high. I suppose that means that ONLY the most devoted fans will hear it."
I was disappointed

"
I am sure there will be those who will enjoy this CD and want to play it repeatedly ........ but I am not one of them. To me Secret Garden is intimate and unique, this collection seems processed and corporate. It is very professionally done without question, but it sounds like a soundtrack for ..... what ..... a Disney movie? ..... a production by Andrew Lloyd Weber? Not bad, but is it Secret Garden? For me, it was an experiment that didn't work. And yes, it is overpriced."
Good group of Songs

"I enjoy this album very much but was disappointed the Barbra Streisand track was the same one on her albums. Will admit I kind of grew tired of this CD faster than most I own. Think it was due to setting new age songs to words that they were not meant to have. Other than Streisand the other vocalist are pretty unknown here in the US. They were however excellent vocalist."
INSIDE I'M SINGING BY SECRET GARDEN

"WONDERFUL ALBUM BY A WONDERFUL ORCHESTRATOR & SONG WRITER. I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR OVER A YEAR FOR THIS ONE TO COME OUT. IT WAS RELEASED IN NORWAY SOME TIME AGO, BUT I COULD NOT GET IT HERE. BRENDAN GRAHAM WROTE THE LYRICS FOR NINE OF THE SONGS INCLUDING "YOU RAISE ME UP" WHICH WAS NUMBER ONE FOR MANY MONTHS HERE IN AMERICA. QUITE A GENTLEMAN, BRENDAN,
I HAD THE OCCASION TO SPEND PART OF AN AFTERNOON WITH HIM IN A COTTAGE IN IRELAND, ONE OF THE HIGHLIGHT OF MY TRIP. I WAS STRUCK BY HIS MODESTY AND HUMILITY. I KNEW ABOUT "YOU RAISE ME UP", BUT WHEN I ASK HIM WHAT ELSE HE HAD DONE HE SAID "OH IVE DONE A LITTLE WITH CELTIC WOMEN AND WE ARE DOING A ALBUM WITH SECRET GARDEN, BUT DID NOT LET ON TO THE VASTNESS OF HIS WORK. HE HAS WRITTEN THREE BOOKS- HISTORICAL NOVELS-
ABOUT THE POTATO FAMINE IN IRELAND WHICH ARE AMAZING, AND MOST RECENTLY HE HAS WRITTEN THE LYRICKS FOR CELTIC WOMENS NEW RELEASE "O, AMERICA' WHICH IS AVAILABLE AS A DOWNLOAD FROM AMAZON. GREAT GREAT ALBUM. GO SECRET GARDEN YOU HAVE DONE IT AGAIN!!!!!"
Gorgeous music, excruciating lyrics

"I have loved Secret Garden from the very first album, and their music has inspired visions, characters and entire scenes for me as a novelist. And as any new release is rare, and a cause for celebration, I ordered "Inside I'm Singing" as soon as I heard about it. Big mistake. If there are instrumental tracks from the other albums that you cherish, you'll find them here bastardized beyond recognition by lyrics so excruciatingly banal that you'll cringe with embarrassment. This is paint-by-numbers songwriting: you'll hear the word that rhymes in your mind long before the singer gets there. If there's one reason to buy this album, it's Streisand's exquisite rendering of "I've Dreamed of You" (written to "Heartstrings"), which apparently she sang at her wedding to James Brolin. To hear that luminous voice, nuanced and subtle, is to hear genius. Elaine Paige brings sincerity to "The Things You Are To Me" (written to the instrumental "Song from a Secret Garden") and if the anthem-like "You Raise Me Up" is a favourite, there's a grandiose version here. The rest is simply awful. Avoid."
