"To those of you out there who have never heard the beautiful, soulful, kickin, sounds of Nashvilles Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies, I feel sorry for you!!! I was first turned on to the band in '93 with their self titled debut, and immediatly was blown away by the tightness and uniqueness of the sound. From the opening riff in "Ride the Tide" I was hooked!!! Live Vol. 1&2, recorded at 328 Performance Hall, Nashville Tn.,Feb. 12, 2000, was a benefit concert for the Matthew Butler Foundation, which provides training and support for people with disabilties, to live normal lives. The lucky fans who were there were treated to three full sets of the Wheelies, performing all three studio albums, in running order. Disc 1 features the self titled first album.. after an intro from jazz great Jimmy Hall the band tears into "Shakin the Blues" and the SCW prove that they are as tight a live unit as a studio band.. I can't really pick a favorite track because they are all great... Disc 2 features tracks from the Magnolia disc, which is one of the best rock albums of the '90s. Again every track smokes!!! Several tracks are omitted from each album , and the entire third set was never released because the band felt they may have had too many "spirits" that evening. Bottom Line: SCW's are the best live band out there... hands down!! Do yourself a favor and buy all their releases...PEACE!!"
One Of The Best Rock/Blues/Funk/Soul Jam Bands Ever

"It's a mystery to me (and all the other Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies fans that I've met at their live shows since 1993) why this band is not more popular. While the music on their studio albums is some of the most soulful ever recorded, hearing them live is an almost religious experience. This double CD set is a perfect testament to their dedication and power. Rick White and Bobby Watkins are two of the best duelling lead guitarists that you've never heard of. Steve Burgess is one major league funky bass player and Terry Thomas does some things on his drumkit that defy description. As incredible as these four masters are, the lead singer, harp player and sometimes guitarist is a phenomenon unto himself. Imagine Jim Morrison mixed with Stevie Ray Vaughan then add a dash of Joe Cocker having a drink with Marvin Gaye and you've got the near holy vocals of Mike Farris. When he sings, you feel like God is standing backstage listening in. This 2 CD set captures their live show as well as possible without actually standing right in front of the stage. While every song is worth extended replays, stand-outs include "Leave Your Pride", "I Found Love", "Magnolia" and (my personal favorite) "Father Speaks". I can't say enough about this album. You will be very pleased by what you hear."
