"This is very tranquil and meditative music, and if you allow it to, it can transport you to somewhere safe and beautiful. Think of this CD as a portal to stillness, to somewhere outside time.
Scott August's _Distant Spirits_ alters the feeling of my immediate environment as soon as the first track begins, and for me brings to mind the clarity of desert light, the smell of damp Juniper as a summer thunderstorm races by, and the almost eerie feeling of quiet I get out on the empty mesas. Treat yourself."

A place i call home

"I have a special place far up in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. I listen to lots of music there since it is the one place that I have peace and truely consider the home of my soul. Some music instantly doesn't belong, some music fits but is only appropriate to the task I'm doing, like chopping wood and some music provides a simple distraction. Distant Spirits comes the closest to peaceful magisty of this place. It has become the first thing I play when I get there and if I'm at my home in the city it instantly transports me back there. There are very few things in my life that have this power. I will wear this one out and buy another, but I will never be without it. Thank you Scott August."

Dare to close your eyes and be whisked away by a myraid of sounds that take you through canyons and valleys that dazzle the imagination while the soul is transported to it's Creator. "Distant Spirits is a wonderful mixture of world instruments featuring the native american flute. The texture that is woven is very etheral. The soundscapes of this CD transports the soul to a relaxing and meditative state. Here one can be at peace with your private thoughts and feelings. There is something magical about the native flute and the arrangements on this CD evolke something primal and yet natural. I have owned the CD for about one year and have listened to it time and time again. Each time I do so it transports me to this same wonderful place. The music is timeless and I never seem to tire of its soothing and comforting rythms. The use of these ancient instruments and natural sounds strike a very pleasant chord with my soul. The brillance of this work is how these simple sounds have been so brillantly arranged to form this unique work of art. It easlily is at the top of my list of Native American flute music. It is easy to see why it was nominated for a Native American music award. It is balm for the soul and pleasing to the ear. Brilliant!"
