A good remix album.

"The reason I give "Son of Schweinstein" one more star than I gave "Schweinstein" is because while the original album was merely not bad and suffered from a bit of pretense and culture clash, the remix album actually improves on the original songs by giving them some unique treatments. The Ken Ishii mix of "You're My Disease" could easily be a hit on the dancefloor, a far cry from the slowed pace of the original version. The two Charlie Clouser mixes of "Organzola"...well, one was enough. There's little or no difference between them. It wouldn't be bad if not for that. "Lard, Lips, Liquor (Shadows)" is a great remix because it strips the song down and adds an acoustic guitar...it adds nicely to creating a darker atmosphere for what was one of the more upbeat songs. My favorite mix is the Kosh and Carry Pig Mix of "Fantasia." The addition of distorted slide guitar line really adds some depth to the song. It was one of the better songs on "Schweinstein," only to be improved on by this remix. The remixes of "Porno," "Spank the Monkey," "World's Junk," and "Slip" pretty much follow suit, adding new elements, stripping the songs to the basics and rethinking them into better arrangements that make the songs more bearable than they were on "Schweinstein." For that, I think "Son of Schweinstein" is superior to the original because most remixes are merely interesting or at least more danceable. The remixes here are both of those, but they actually make the songs better, something remixes rarely do. Just a damn good CD!"
