Charming and Intimate

"These are wonderfully charming and intimate pieces. Some of the pieces may be more fun to play than listen (after all, how many marches can we take in a single dose? ) but the playing is exquisite. My personal favorite is the A major Rondo. The opening melody will remind the listener what a incredible gift Schubert had for writing gorgeously vocal melodies (I often hear Fischer-Dieskau's singing whenever I hear this melody). This CD set is a true gem. If a listener enjoyed this set, I would also strongly recommend the vol. 2 of the series. It contains the magnificent F minor Fantasy played imcomparably."
