A rocking-out record

"There is never a dull moment on Fifty Reasons to Explode, Schatzi's Mammoth Records debut LP. This Austin, TX, outfit sounds a bit like Superdrag, especially in the vocal, but there is certainly an added edge. This band earns points with me with their experimentation with meter and phrasing, as well as the addition of keys and moogs to round out the sound. Above all, the strength of this band is simply their ability to rock; I've now found the perfect crunch distortion guitar sound that I'm now trying to emulate with my amp. This record clocks in at under 35 minutes, but it doesn't waste any time getting to the point. Thank you, Schatzi."

"I'd say these guys are definitely one of the best emo corp bands around. They've got the sound down, but they also have a lot more guitar technique than I usually expect from these types of bands. They're more than an attitude and they're going to keep getting better."
