Louisiana is a state rich in Gospel talent and tradition. Churches abound that ring with the soulful, exhuberant strains of Gospel-influenced rhythms, melodies and harmonies. In 1989 a young pastor/musician, Dan Davis, selected some of the very best young Gospel musicians from every corner of Louisiana to form the inauguaral Louisiana All State Youth Choir. Their initial tour and recording delighted audiences across the region and soon won them national recognition. Their extraordinary singing, youthful enthusiasm and powerful spiritual commitment set LA All State apart as a very special musical and spiritual force. Since then, their several nationally distributed recording projects, choral books and extensive tours have widened their sphere of influence and won a legion of enthusiatic fans. I'm Saved! is their first live project and their first FORTRESS release. Produced by emerging young producer Aaron Lopez (Nor Cal Mass, Olivet/Oakland, Southern Cal Celebration Mass and others), I'm Saved! is a brilliant combination of LA All State's high energy, astounding, full-of-conviction sound with a fabulous veteran band and powerful, memorable, anointed songs. The musicians are the San Francisco Bay area's best gospel recording musicians who have performed on major West Coast projects including Edwin & Walter Hawkins, Tramaine Hawkins, Lawrence Matthews, Daryl Coley, Nor Cal Mass Choir, CLC Youth Choir and hundreds of others. Players include the legendary drummer Joel Smith and bass player Tommy Brown, with guitarist Joel Whitley and organ/pianists Derrick Hall and Aaron Lopez. The splendid soloists -- including nationally known solo artists Rickard Allmon, Vonnie Lopez and Hector Soto as well as amazing young singers Tarinda DeVillier, Rynn Wilson, Traci McKeithen and Landy Maughon -- all contribute at a very high level in a wide variety of artistic styles.
