CD ReviewsBlast from the past muzik lover | Boston Mass USA | 02/13/2010 (4 out of 5 stars) "I remember this record from the early eighties, before cd`s.Sandy Stewart has a low-sultry voice, like Stevie Nicks.I would describe the album as low key pop.My favorite song is "Saddest Victory"She does get help from friends like Stevie on this album,it`s to bad Sandy never put out another record." Cat Dancer Is Like Catnip For The Ears! Popcorn Blizzard | Corpus Christi, TX | 12/28/2009 (5 out of 5 stars) "I chanced upon this 1983 album in 2000, as I was seeking out Buckingham-Nicks-related material. Sandy Stewart performs on Stevie Nicks's Wild Heart album and here on Stewart's Cat Dancer, Nicks returns the favor, providing backing vocals on three of the album's nine tracks. Cat Dancer elegantly captures the 80s vibe with heartrending ballads ("Saddest Victory," "I Pretend") and vibrant pop-rock anthems ("Cat Dancers," "Not Like The Others," "Leave It All Behind"). But Stewart's stellar vocals and insightful songwriting--not to mention David Monday's epic guitar--make this album much more than just a footnote in Nicks's catalog. Cat Dancer will appeal to 80s aficionados of all stripes, especially those with a soft spot for Amy Holland, Face To Face, Maria Vidal, and Y Kant Tori Read. Thanks, Wounded Bird Records, for giving this under-rated masterwork new life on CD! " Waited for this for over 25 years Haint | Lake Tapps, WA United States | 12/24/2009 (5 out of 5 stars) "This is even better than I remembered; it is all I expected AND has more depth than I remembered possibly because of the quality and accessibility of the CD version compared the old vinyl and cassette versions. Sandy Stewart's voice is beautiful, her synth playing is catchy and creative and the entire production has punch and polish. I wish she had done more albums and videos (there is a video of 'Saddest Victory' in existence, not on this CD); perhaps it could still be done. This is one of the best out there and has been in my player most of the time since I received it from Amazon.com on November 30. I give 5 stars to all and a sixth star to 'Get My Way', 'Living End' and 'Mind Over Matter'."
