Solid, no-frills blues

"Sam Myers is a longtime veteran of the blues, and believe it or not, this is his first solo album. Backed by a nice combo led by guitar legend Mel Brown, he storms through a set of mostly original's that showcase his fine singing and heavily amplified harp playing perfectly. There are a few covers of lesser known blues song's including Robert Lockwood's "My Daily Wish" and Otis Spann's "Burning Fire". Pick up this cd if you like rough and lowdown blues. This may not be the most essential blues album of all-time, but it's still very good."

"I just bought this cd and I can't say enough about it, top quality sound vocals & song writing. A bit like Anson Funderburgh but all his own for sure, a must have for any Texas blues lover one of the best I have heard in 2004. A nice strong album, this is Sam's first release of a whole album. It is a great first effort, he had released some singles in the fifties & sixties."
