""You will be afraid of the LIGHT if your Heart is dark..."Wow! This is my first Sally Oldfield CD and I am completely speechless! I bought 'Flaming Star' on a whim (the cover called out to me as I was perusing the new age section at my favorite record store) and it makes me wonder if (sometimes) an unknown force chooses what we buy, not us. And, as crazy as that may sound, these "whims" truly do puzzle me because they're almost ALWAYS albums that I come to treasure with the core of my very being! (Dagda, Govinda, State Of Grace and Oceania being prime examples for me...) 'Flaming Star' is a rare CD that radiates MAGIC of the purest kind and flows as a whole to become one in this "spiritual" journey about the creation of nature! "Warm upon the wind comes the song of the melting snow
Far away a star plays a song of long ago.
I can feel it,
A cool wind from the mountains
Calling me from afar
Joining my heart to the heart of a star". The ambient world grooves are key in making this album as beautiful and as addictive as it is but it's really the awe-inspiring words that make 'Flaming Star' so heavenly and worth buying! Now, I don't mean to sound preachy or anything but the lyrics seem to serve as a reminder to stop what your doing and to take care of our natural surroundings (in other words, admire; don't destroy!), for the earth is our current home and we need to nurture, not diminish it!"

"Probably similar for the same method to enchant the listener. Two albums very different that define the carreer of an incredible artists. WB gives to us the idea of a fantastic world, populated by elves and mystical creatures, FS is the land of spiritual sensations, a path that guides us to heavenly melodies and incredible vocalizes such as that of invocation that seems to be a sort of prayer. try to listen this two albums in a mountain or in a forest.. try to see, while you are listening to Water Bearer or Flaming Star, the sun that shine in the sky, try to see some clouds that runs in the sky... if you are stressed by the work, by the city, by the family, take your car, buy these two albums, and go in an open country. Lying in the grass listen to this fantastic music and open your heart."
