Album DescriptionGerman-Japanese violinist Mirijam Contzen, student of the great Hungarian violinist Tibor Varga, is one of the top-flight younger generation musicians. She was given her first violin at the age of two, her first lessons from the age of three, and at five she gave her first public performance. Contzen is one of the members of Arte Nova?s young newcomer artist roster. Her recital album entitled Favorite Violin Pieces earned her the Echo Klassik award from the German music industry as Newcomer Artist of 2001. During the 2003/2004 season, Mirijam Contzen made her debuts at the Salzburg Festival and the Wigmore Hall, London. Romanian pianist Valéry Rogatchev was born in 1970 and began to learn the piano at age four. At the age of eleven he played the Grieg concerto with the Romanian Radio Orchestra. In 199, under Alfred Brendel, he won the first prize at the Mozart Competition. He has toured widely, playing with the Chicago Symphony and other major orchestras.
