"Sainkho was born in Tuva, a region of current Russia which is situated next to Mongolia. She learnt there the peculiar music sung and played by Tuvians -see records by Huun Huur Tu-. She went to Moscow in the soviet era where she studied the music from other places of the extint USSR and was also in contact with jazz and avant-garde music. Nowadays she produces music which has all these ingredients in a melting pot way that parallels globalization in other cultural fields. It sounds intelligent, full of concern and conciousness for our interior uncertainties, sometimes giving us a missing sensation or a sense of rootlessnes.
