"I found out about Sadao Watanabe completely by accident. Actually, I just saw this CD in the library and thought I'd check it out. I liked it enough that I ordered it a couple days later. Being a sax player, I am always interested in other sax players, and especially finding out about sax players that were previously under my radar. Sadao Watanabe is one of those players that I am glad to have found out about and maybe even wish that I had found out about earlier. I really enjoy his jazzy, groovy style. He is a happy player and it shows in his song choices and compositions. This guy has collaborated with the greatest, including the Brecker Brothers, Dave Grusin and many others. I recently saw him on YouTube with a traditional jazz quartet comprised of Omar Hakim, John Pattitucci and none other than 89-year-old Hank Jones on the piano. Sadao is a legend in Japan and is now on my list of legendary sax players."
