"Amazon advertizes three recordings of Franz Schrekers opera, Der Ferne Klang, two of which are the very same recording. The Marco Polo label is the exact same opera production as the one on the Naxos Label. Both are conducted by Micharl Halasz, have the same cast, and both recorded with the Hagen Opera Chorus. I suspect that the original recording was on the Marco Polo Label, which was bought out by Naxos. The Marco Polo version was reissued by Naxos and then later re-reissued by Naxos with a picture of the Marco Polo Label. I had the Naxos Label version of Der Ferne Klang and made the mistake of ordering the one on Marco Polo. To my surprise, the Marco Polo Version arrived with the Naxos logo on the side of the jewel box. At least the Naxos label has the libretto in German with wonderful articles on this relatively unknown opera. The Marco Polo version has nothing with it, just the deceptive Marco Polo picture on the cover and a track listing on the back.
I recomend that you not buy the Marco Polo label version; instead buy the Naxos one."
