"I took a flying leap and bought this album (with the amount of info here, it could have been Syd Barrett and Bessie Smith) - but this is actually two albums by Ruth Barrett and Cyntia Smith: "Aeolus", and "Music of the Rolling World". It's a must-have for anyone like me who wore out their vinyl copy of "Aeolus" years ago."
Splendid duet of women's music with dulcimer accompaniment.

"When I first heard these melodious ladies, CD format wasn't out yet, and I ended up buying these two albums in vinyl, then in cassette form. I wore both formats out I loved them so much. They play dulcimers to accompany their lovely bird-like voices. They remind me very much of hearing thrushes in the forest, with never a dissonant note. Their subject matter of both of these albums is of older folksy music, like you may hear at a renaissance festival or a women's music festival. The tunes are thinly veiled references of the adoration of goddesses and fairy queens, and indeed later on I am aware that these two were featured at summer folk festivals for awhile. Ruth Barrett performed by herself for awhile, especially in the women's music genre, but it is this pair of recordings that I always liked best, as the dulcimers feature prominently, and there is some harmonious resonance between these ladies and their dulcimers that makes you turn to them to listen to whilst reading a good book or doing busywork with your hands. I am so happy to find it available here. You won't regret picking up a copy yourself."
