CD ReviewsGood Album, But Get The "Two-fer" Instead Eric R. Last | San Bruno, CA United States | 01/04/2003 (3 out of 5 stars) ""Frogs Sprouts Clogs And Krauts" was the second of three albums for Graham Parker's back-up band. In 2001 a collection called "Not Just A Rumour, More A Way Of Life" was issued that includes almost all of this album (only "We Believe In You/New Age" was omitted), plus all but one song from their third album, "Purity Of Essence". All on one disc, at about the same price as buying the individual CDs. So for those who are so inclined, I strongly recommend getting the "two-fer". As for the music, "Frogs Sprouts Clogs And Krauts" is the weakest of the Rumour's three original albums. They experiment with synthesizers and sound effects in a way that dates the music badly. The third album was much better, with a crisp, clean pop sound. (The first album, "Max", has still never been issued on CD.) But in spite of the questionable production, there are some fine songs, such as "Hard Enough To Show", "Euro", and "Emotional Traffic". I like the album as a whole, it's just that I like the Rumour's other two even more."
