Amazon.comThis disc is part of an extensive ongoing tribute to violinist Ruggiero Ricci. He has made many commercial recordings, but this series greatly enlarges his recorded repertory with live performances. Many aspects of this collection make it worthwhile. The violinist obviously understands the music and knows how to project it. The little-known pianist, Eugenio Bagnoli, proves to be a major factor in the performances, playing with a great deal of strength and holding up his part in the Kreutzer admirably. Unfortunately, sometimes the violinist's tone is simply unbearable, completely ruining the disc. Others in this series are more worthwhile. --Leslie Gerber
