Time for a new genre...

"What do you call this music? Its like a perfectly mixed martini blending electronic sounds, jazzy samples, latin rhythms, and a splash of exceptional production. I stumbled upon this album which was luckily being played on one of the headphone stations at a local record store. It is comparable to works by DJ Logic, Herbaliser, and Koop. Often times electronic albums bore me about 30 minutes into it due to the monotony of 95-120 BPM beats, however, this album made me anticipate what was around the corner due to its complexity and variety of keys rhythms and beats. Not a minute is wasted on this release. If you dig what I like to call "Post Acid Jazz Electronica" you'll love this album."

"This album is not one you'll find on many people's Top 10 lists, but it deserves to be. If you like lounge/chillout/jazz then you owe it to yourself to check this disc out. The name Rubin Steiner sounds like some mid-60's era jazz conductor whose records probably would sit collecting dust in someone's garage (and the cover art might add to that affect)... but this journey is more unique.
A twisted jazz cornocopia of sounds conjuring images of Fantasia if it was led by a traditional jazz musician on dangerous amounts of acid... Its too bad that once an artist achieves acclaim most people automatically check out their newest works (Theivery Corp, Moby, DJ Krush... whoever) when beautiful, unique, organic sounding music like this somehow is priced under a dollar here in the bargain bin. If you're a true music fan, you owe it to yourself to check this record out. I don't write many reviews, so this disc must have been impressive to garner that much effort!
This is the TRUE lounge underground. You best get acquainted!"
