Roxy Music's Best Album Just Got a Lot Better!
Frederick Baptist | Singapore | 03/07/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This album was a massive commercial success, especially in the UK, when it first came out in the early 80's with hit singles such as "Avalon", "More Than This" and "Take a Chance With Me". And yet, as is the case with most classic albums, the singles don't tell the whole story of the album. The remaining tracks are great in themselves and do not even remotely resemble filler material. Tracks like "To Turn You On" and "True To Life" are great as well and every track seems to be destined to be placed in the order that they are in and the only way to do true justice to this album is to listen to it from start to finish at one sitting. There is no adequate way to explain the music of Brian Ferry except to experience it yourself and this album is the best way to do just that. Now in this version we get a very well produced mini-lp sleeve replica which comes with all the lyrics in English and Japanese but most importantly of all, the remastering job is very, very good resulting in a wonderfully good sound quality which makes this album sound just as fresh today as it did when it first came out more than 20 years ago. Great packaging, great tracks, great sound quality, what more can you ask for? Very highly recommended!"
