remastered deluxe edition of Roxanne Shante's Bad
Sister. Previously available in CD format for only a short
time over twenty years ago, Shante's classic debut
album remains highly sought-after. Produced entirely
by the legendary Marley Marl, Bad Sister was unveiled
to the world during perhaps Cold Chillin's creative peak,
and Shante was perceived by the Hip Hop world as the
female force to be reckoned with in a crew few could
compete with. With the involvement of Cold Chillin's
CEO and founder Tyrone Fly Ty Williams, original
album photographer George DuBose and Ms. Shante
herself, this expanded edition of Bad Sister includes
additional never-before-seen artwork as well as music
previously unavailable on CD, all meticulously restored
to create the ultimate listening experience. In the
accompanying liner notes written with Shante s input, a
snapshot of the era is preserved.

"We were never allowed to lip-sync, so when it came to
myself, someone who made up lyrics all the time, I
would have completely different lyrics on stage. All my
shows were absolutely different because of the fact that
I couldn't remember my lyrics. But when you're
16-years-old, and you have to remember the baby, the
rent, the bottle, the food, the coat, the jackets, and the
fake birth date on the new ID they gave you, that's a lot
to remember... I couldn't remember lyrics also."
