"I saw these guys play live at Jazz Alley, July 13, 2004, from a few feet away and bought the CD *after* I saw them. That is why I really can't give the CD a full 5 stars - it just can't compare.
Marc Copeland (piano) and Greg Osby (alto) give wonderful performances on this CD and are playing in a "free" kind of way but with some structure. There is a high level of communication going on here between these two - this is the real deal, unlike some of the players that jumped on the "free jazz" bandwagon back in the '60's, these guys have the full vocabulary and understand the tradition but are taking jazz to the next level. I enthusiastically recommend this CD."
