"This compilation contains just those pieces of Rossinian music with at least two tenors envolved at one time. The original cast of the scenes presented here consisted of tenors like Andrea Nozzari, Giovanni David or Manuel Garcia, the most famous male singers of Italian opera in the first decade of the 19th century. For that, this music demands absolute vocal brilliance and perfect style - so we are lucky to hear three voices which are able to provide both. A virile and dramatic Bruce Ford, always very compassionate and close to the words, the florid William Matteuzzi, an elegant virtuoso like the "Divo" David must have been, dealing with a bonebreaking high tessitura, and last but not least the young, fresh and very elastic voice of Paul Austin Kelly (with great lyric as well as dramatic moments). This stellar trio does some of the best interpretation of Rossini's Napolitanian masterpieces available on the market! This CD is really worth to buy it!"
