"...any Rory album to be.
I have this on vinyl. (Those large black circular disc things that people dont seem to recognize these days.) But Im sure the CD is just as great. ( I need to get the CD myself!)
This seems to be one of the - shall I say it?- underrated Rory albums for some reason. Im not sure why. Maybe Im wrong. Or maybe some people are too particular about their musical tastes. In any case- this album features some of Rory's best work backed by his amazing band. ( Gerry McAvoy- bass, Lou Martin- keyboards and Rod de'Ath - drums) Just a tight, very together band and one of the best in music history.
You will really appreciate this album - not just for the familiar songs here (Walk On Hot Coals-Hands Off- Daughter of the Everglades) - but also for the uniqueness and the different feel with each song.
Thats one of the best things about Rory Gallagher- He was always diverse and everything is more unique and UNlike anything else in the (music) world.
Definitely not an album that you will put on now and then. The work of this man and his amazing musicians never gets old. 5***** Rory is and will always be the best.
Songs:
Walk On Hot Coals
Daughter of the Everglades
Banker's Blues
Hands Off
Race the Breeze
The Seventh Son of the Seventh Son
Unmilitary Two Step
If I Had a Reason
ENJOY!!!"
