"I'm not a musical engineer. I'm not a musician. But I know deeply the music of Mr. Aldrich.
Can someone explain me why when remaster the master tapes the first notes of some songs are cuts? (the songs do not begin at the first note): please, listen the track #18, Till. Or why sound is out-of-tune (too in the first notes), as in tracks # 16 (Nuages), 19 (La boheme) and 22 (Sabor a mi)?
I can say that because I have the LP (recorded in Spain. "Where the sun is" never was released in America), and some compilations made by Decca under Eclipse label some years ago. In that, Till begins in the first note, soft, elegant! And the sound in the first notes are perfect!
I thanks to Vocalion for remaster until now 26 LPs of Ronnie, and I hope this mistake will be fixed for the rest of the collection (around 14 LPs).
The first record, "For young lovers" was made in 1968, with full orchestra, big sound and big hits in that moment, as "What the world needs now", "It must be him" and "Born free".
The second one, recorded in 1966. Was made with a small group of musicians, and romantic music, as "Strangers when we meet", "Nuages", "Till", the glorius "Anema ? core" and "Sabor a mi".
Alert! Vocalion launched this month "The way we were" and "Love Story" in one CD. I?m waiting the CDs (2 exactly: 1 for listen all days, and the second one keep in a safe place, because I love the LPs and CDs sealed).
Note on june 3th: the sound and remastering in "The way we were" and "Love Story" is marvelous! 5 stars again. The cover of the first was different here in America and has two songs more (Top of the world and Vado via, two some different versions of the songs released in the LP "Top of the World" for us in America by London Records)-.
This album, "The way we were" was the only LP that Ronnie put to the Drum in front of the orchestra and sound outstanding!
