CD ReviewsMerle Haggard's stepson! EMC | Sierra Vista, AZ USA | 04/13/2007 (4 out of 5 stars) "This guy is real country. While he does sound a lot like Keith Whitley and Lefty, I think he really sounds a lot like his former stepdad, Merle Haggard. And of course Lefty was a huge influence on Merle. Ron's mom Leona was Merle's third wife, and it sure seems that some of the Hag's talent rubbed off on this young man. Great album, nice assortment of songs. If you like the real country sound, this is a good addition to your collection!" WOW! A real find! George Haber | Long Island, NY | 06/14/2005 (5 out of 5 stars) "I heard Ron Williams at the Wildhorse and liked him very much but didn't get an album. Then I heard a track, "Bag of Chips," on a collection of new singers and said WHO IS THIS GUY??? When I checked the label and saw it was, indeed, the same Ron Williams, I rushed to buy the album on which it appears. Ron Williams is the Real Deal. GET THIS ALBUM!" Country's Coming Back!!!!!!!! J. McCarley | Brownsville, Tennessee | 12/05/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "A breath of fresh air for us country listeners. In a world where most real country is not played on the radio and most young stars are making Pop Country albums, Ron Williams went the right way. From the toe tapper "Rent Free" to the "rip your heart out" Tired of Being Something", this cd brings out the true country in me! The song "World Class Honky Tonk" is a lot of fun, while "Behind the Eight Ball Again" shows me that Ron is destined for stardom. That is as long as he sticks to doing what he did to catch my ear in the first place. The entire cd is good and worth a listen, but the previously mentioned songs are the best of the bunch. I hope there will be more "tears in my beer" style songs from this new and inspiring young country star."
