More "Favorites"

"This is the second "Favorites" album by Ron Dante. The original album is on RKO-Unique and this album is on the Fuel label. It contains many of the songs from the original album in addition to songs that appear on his other releases "Saturday Night Blast" and "California Weekend", all of which I recommend.
This album contains 8 songs from the original "Favorites" as well as new releases "That's Alright Mama" (very uptempo and very un-like Elvis' version), "Billy Don't Be A Hero" - a cap-tip to Bo Donaldson, remakes of "Black Is Black" and "Gimme Some Lovin'" which do the originals justice, a Bee Gees medley and a version of Robin McNamara's "Lay A Little Lovin' On Me" which actually out-does the original and deserves some serious airplay.
The production is as seemless, transparent and professional as any out there and Ron Dante's vocals are honestly just as good as they've ever been.California Weekend Saturday Night Blast Favorites(Original 1999 release)."
