"If it wasn't a first tier band, Rodolfo Biagi led what should be considered on of the most important second tier bands. In my own and many other people's opinions, an evening of dancing Argentine tango is incomplete without his trademark style of syncopation by unexpected taking out notes you expect to hear.
This CD contains only instrumental tracks, and the track selection is superb, with the majority of the tracks widely considered classics of tango for social dancing.
In general, the "From Argentina to the World" series has uniformly high sound quality and this CD is no exception. In fact, I think the sound quality is a bit better than the releases on the Reliquias label. This is a subtle thing, but this CD was where I first detected Biagi's trick of adding rhythmic by subtly increasing the volume on successive notes of triplets. When I went back to the same tracks on Reliquias, I could hear him using the same dynamics, but it wasn't nearly so audible.
I highly recommend this CD to tangophiles everywhere."
