Letter to My Penis [*]
Rodney Carrington likes keepin' it rude, lewd, and crude. The raunchy Texan comedian's inner horny adolescent rages on and on in these fast-talkin' routines. This guy is fixated on sex and is particularly fond of talking a... more »bout the male member. Carrington also manages to find time to humorously tell us just how he feels about marriage and kids, going to church, and shopping for caskets. There's plenty of shoutin' and an undercurrent of stylized irritation in these live performances recorded at clubs in Texas, North Carolina, and Indiana. A number of tracks feature Carrington strumming an acoustic guitar and singing songs that poke fun at, among other things, Latin lovers, grandpa, and The Artist Formerly known as Prince. The tune that best sums up Rodney's shtick is "Letter to My Penis," which appears on the album not once, but twice. Rodney and his Thing have their differences, but in the end, they work everything out. --Fred Cisterna« less

"First let me tell you...I am not a fan of country music in any way shape or form and the whole cowboy life is as foreign to me as a vegetarian diet is to Jeffery Dahmer. But I must say...Rodney Carrington is probably one of the best comedians alive. Bobby Slayton is another of my favorites by far. Anyway this cd is very upbeat, fun, original, and done with the charm of a true country gentleman...yeah right. I love his take on walmart, TT-bars (abbreviated so as to have this review published), etc... The songs are great. Some people like the humor of Jeff Foxworthy, but I never quite got into what he said...albeit I realize the man is good at what he does. It's just that Carrington caters to all crowds. He is for all audiences over the age of about 18...black, white, yellow, brown, purple...just anyone with a sense of humor. Anyway I am not a polished reviewer so I will let you decide for yourself, but I do highly recommend this cd if you haven't laughed in a while."
Rodney does it again!

"AllI can say Is that Rodney Carrington is and always will be a HIT in our house. If you are having a bad day, listen to him. If you don't feel better, move to Texas and find him...RARELY do I recommend that to anyone. Longview & All of Texas can be proud of this genial, thought provoking man. Hope he comes to Seattle soon, I think the rain will sound like laughter too.."

"Heard this CD for the first time a few weeks ago while visiting friends in TN. I never laughed so hard! Went right out and bought it. Had some friends listen to it and they were in tears from laughing so hard ... didn't take long for them to go get the CD as well. Just wish he'd come to Connecticut and do a show!"

"I am from california where rednecks are not real common. But being stationed at a military installation in Texas you get exposed to different things and Rodney was one of them. The first time I listened to this C.D. I was in bed at the Barracks and started laughing so hard the guys who were trying to sleep were about to start beating me. Rodney is not for anyone who is religious, easily offended, or for that matter normal. ( he will even tell you that ). But if you want to do nothing but laugh until you are about to die. This is the C.D. of choice. He is even better live. And his new C.D. Nut sacks is due out in a few month's."
