"I found out about this release a long time after the band split up. After sampling some mp3's on their website I took the chance and bought this, their self titled release and it hasnt dissapointed me.



Rockets Red Glare specialise in epic complex and dynamic song structures employing arpegiated stop start guitar riffs, half shouted half sung vocals (similar to Crown Hate Ruin or Hoover) and lots of dynamics. The songs tend to hit the six or seven minute mark so if you have a short attention span or dont like the rockier end of post-rock then maybe they're not the band for you. However if you like dense complex song writing prepare to be pulled in to a dark mysterious maelstrom. I was shocked to discover that RRG are a three piece as this is such a dense full sounding record.



This album would appeal to fans of early 90 day men, Hoover, Crown Hate Ruin, Hero of a Hundred Fights,Kolya, The Van Pelt.

"Rockets Red Glare is incredible, variegated, complex, convoluted, and explosive. Beware of the addictive qualities this band will hit you with. If you like Mogwai, 90 day men, Karate, or just plain good music, then you'll love these rockers. (...)"
