"I can't believe that I haven't reviewed this album sooner, but I must save the viewers from the bad reviews!!!
This albums is fun, catchy, and happy music in a punk world where depressing and upsetting emo reigns supreme. Avery has the capabilities, the voice, and the style of a typical emo band, but he delivers something that is truly needed these days. His songs, are simple, up-beat, and fun, and they make you feel good. He exposes love in its infancy for what it truly is, and what it truly should be. Before the heartbreak and complacency, love is fun, crushes are real, and life is good. This is what "Calendar Days" is all about.
For those who would rather listen to a singer who whines about his love life, hoping fans will commiserate (I would know, I'm guilty of it too) they may find The Rocket Summer immature and unbearable. But for those who are not so far removed from the happier moments of their life, where things seem to pick up and come together, then this album is for you!"

"I just got a chance to see The Rocket Summer live two nights ago and the experience was new, exciting, and an enjoyable escape from the punk/alternative doldrums. The lyrics are catchy and uplifting while the rhythms are simple but have good variety and style. However, I will always love listening to this cd and seeing the live shows mostly because Bryce Avary is the most talented and happy musician I've ever seen. Buy it as soon as you can."
Perhaps the Greatest CD I Own

"I got this CD in August of 2003, and I don't think I took it out of my car CD player untill about October. The songs on this CD are so increadibly emotional and dramatic that I could listen to this CD, and this CD only, for months and months without ever getting borred. And the fact that he plays all the instruments by himself, and hes so young, makes it all the better. When I discovered The Rocket Summer, I immediately got my friends to buy the CD as well, and all of them are now as great of fans as I am. BUY IT!"

"I first discovered TRS when I was surfing through Kazaa, I was trying to find more music from The Juliana Theory and typed in 'emo'... and I noticed a song called 'TV Family.' Ever since, I've been absolutely in love with The Rocket Summer(you should see my Livejournal layout!). I'm the first one in the Elgin, Illinois area to listen to them but I've been spreading it like wildfire. I was extremely impressed that he wrote and performed every bit of music on this cd. I mean wow. Some of the songs he's written he wrote at the age of 14. I'm 15 and a lot of my songs are nowhere NEAR as good. Also, I recommend for all of you to get a hold of Bryce's other songs, such as 'Teenage Love Rock'(my all-time favorite), 'My Typical Angel', 'December Days', and 'Thats What She Said', among others. As excellent as any song on this cd."
Amazing CD...

"...considering Bryce plays EVERY instrument on EVERY song! He has more talent than I could ever dream of having. The song lyrics are so earnest, his voice has a distinct appeal to it, and the melodies are catchy and will get stuck in your head, in a good way. I sometimes find myself singing to myself, "Now the sky's such a sweet blue..."The Rocket Summer is one talent that should not be missed. If you ever get a chance, see him live as well--he's a fun guy, and he's awesome live. I often get tired of listening to CDs when I first get them, listening to them a lot and then making myself sick of them. I've had this album since it came out, and it's still a regular in my CD player. One of my top 5 albums at the moment. I'm glad I got this CD...it's flat out just feel-good music, great for your good days and bad."
