"This is a find. Probably due to the shorter (and more reasonable) European copyright laws a lot of the early days of rock and roll are in the public domain. This enables the German company that compiled this to put it out at a low price. 10 marvleous discs of 20 songs each. The only downside, and it's a very small one, is that each disc by and large contain the same artists. Hard to complain when those artists include Elvis, Buddy Holly, Bill Haley, Little Richard, Lloyd Price, Gene Vincent, Fats Domino, etc. Elvis has songs both from Sun and RCA. These cuts are not second rate or outtakes. They're the real thing.

Whether you were raised on this stuff or are a fan of 50s rock & roll you need to have this collection. While some cuts, like the Elvis ones, are common, a lot ofthe other stuff is rare. For example the Lloyd Price material pre-dates his ABC Paramount days.



Buy it and love the hours."

"A real mixed bag of some hits, some also rans, a few dogs, featuring Rythm & Blues and Rock'n Roll tunes recorded from the late 1940's to the mid-to-late 1950's. Suitable for dancing, with sound quality ranging from excellent to average (considering the age of these recordings).Since I bought this collection on sale and only paid a little over 1/2 the list price, I consider it a good buy."
