An exciting discovery

"This was my introduction to Rocio Jurado, and I was completely enthralled. I only heard about her when she died and I discovered how beloved she was in the Spanish-speaking world. I don't speak Spanish and have only limited understanding, but that seemed hardly necessary to appreciate the range of emotion that she taps into with her songs. (It was nice, though, to have an El Salvadoran friend of mine translate some of the sentiments in her songs.)"
