"Released in 1974 the ex-Procol Harum guitarst's solo career was definately heading in the right direction. With "Bridge Of Sighs" his second studio album Trower shows his fretboard abilities more than ever. His Hendrix inspired guitar solos are awe dropping as can be heard on such standout cuts as "Day Of The Eagle", "The Fool And Me", "Lady Love", "Too Rolling Stoned" and "Little Bit Of Sympathy". The eight added bonus tracks from The BBC Sessions which include "Bridge Of Sighs", "In This Place", "Alethea", "Little Bit Of Sympathy" sound very good and add almost thirty four minutes to this gem of a cd. Soundwise, it isn't that much of a drastic improvement from the older 1999 remaster (which also included bonus tracks) but it's miles ahead of the 1990 non-remastered version. If there's one Trower cd you buy, this should be it! A must have for any classic rock lover."

"The newly released Bridge Of Sighs includes eight live tracks from the BBC Radio shows. These are versions of songs from the period and let you hear once again how great a singer Jimmy Dewar was. The playing is amazing and thanks to Tim at EMI for getting this released. For more on The Robin Trower Band go to [...]"

"A fine guitar driven album that does a good job of showcasing Trower's obvious talents, Bridge of Sighs offers a little of everything, from atmospheric blues ("Bridge of Sighs"; "In this Place"), to a more barroom style of rockin' blues ("The Fool and Me"), to a more funk infused blues ("Too Rolling Stoned," which at points echoes Jimi Hendrix).
There really isn't a weak track on this album. It's beautiful from front to back, and Trower does a great job of making bluesy music that is anything by ordinary."
One of the greatest albums EVER

"Robin Trower's BRIDGE OF SIGHS goes down as one of the greatest albums ever, in my opinion. It's easily in the top five blues albums of all time, as well. When listening to this album, it's easy to get mesmerized and drawn into the slow, easy bluesy-cold mood that this album establishes. It starts out with the perfect kicker (Day of the Eagle) which is an up-tempo starter that eventually slows down near the end. The next track, Bridge of Sighs, can easily be fused together with In this Place (the 3rd track). Bridge of Sighs is my second favorite song of all time, behind Are you Experienced? by Jimi Hendrix. Bridge of Sighs/In this Place put you into a trance with their slow bluesy beats. The sounds of wind blowing only add to the mood, and one just has to think that this is what the blues are all about. The next song (The Fool and Me) is straight blues with a catchy guitar riff to start things off. The next track (Too Rolling Stoned) is another classic of sorts, but not really one of my favorites on the album. Instead, I like About to Begin, which is another slower, more hypnotic song that has similarities to the title track. Lady Love is another song that deserves praise, as it's more up-tempo, yet still bluesy with the guitar solo. The last track (Little Bit of Sympathy) starts off with a crushing riff going into straight rocking blues. This album is a healthy balance of all facets of the blues, and is a must-have for anyone who loves the blues. The other part of the CD (the bonus tracks) are very nice to have, but I'm more focused on the original stuff from the initial release. This album never loses its appeal. I can play it any day, and still get the same enjoyment out of it. 10/10"

"just to say , ive been so tired of detractors claiming robin is a mere hendrix clone, this lp and the vast array of his lps tapes and online videos show a tremendous artist with incredible talent . I really dig fool and me on this lp . Its so good you can just flip the vinyl and keep playing it over and over. HoPefully, he can continue to jam, a living legacy of the best of rock and roll
