CD Reviews

After listening to it you feel cheated, robbed, angry.

"First let me start by saying that without a doubt Roberto Torres is one of the most talented, innovative, versatile, and gracious soneros on the face of the planet still alive today. There's no equal to this vocal giant!. The songs that are featured in this C.D. will demonstrate that I am not exaggerating. I would like to know why either Bethlehem Music Company, or Salsoul Records decided to rob people with this C.D. by only recording half of every song. These butchers cut every song in half (exactly 2:30 per song). No matter where the song is. It leaves a terrible taste in your mouth. Because judging from the tremendous musicians on the C.D., and familiar with Roberto Torres's style you should know that by this point (2:30) these cats are only warming up. They will absorb you with music like a hurricane. I am so disappointed. The least they could of done is warn people that they cut every record, and it would not seem like a shameless disregard for peoples hard earned money. There's an example in a C.D. by the late, great Willie Bobo. The C.D. is entitled "Juicy", and released in 1998 the recording tells you that complete songs are not in the C.D.. Only parts of them so one can grasp the greatnes of this world class self taught, pioneer, percussionist, and I gladly purchased the C.D.. I would like to know who is directly responsible for this cruel deception, so I can voice my discontent personally."
