"This is a great Mirabal album if you are already a fan of his and, like me, you appreciate most things that he does. If not, I would recommend starting with an album (like Song Carrier) that has more flute playing. This one is mostly chanting and drumming, which is great, but not a showcase for Mirabal's excellent flute playing."

"Robert has such immense talent, it cannot be captured fully on tape. I have seen him in concert 3 times now. He becomes the song, the spirit flows through him into his instruments and they become one. His every movement is fluid and he becomes the bird, the eagle, the wolf, the spirit. His music calms and excites at the same time. After a long day, all I have to do is pop in a cassette on the way home & the troubles just melt away, leaving me at peace."
