Album DescriptionAn acoustic album of country, blues, folk and original tunes performed on guitar, banjo, fiddle, autoharp, and mountain dulcimer (with just a bit of accordion accompaniment here and there!), this recording features virtuoso instrumental performances and vocal renditions from nationally acclaimed musicians. Although overall the album is best described as "acoustic country" the instrumental fiddle tunes feature flawless flatpicking guitar performances a la Doc Watson, and the blues of Mississippi John Hurt are fingerpicked with an obvious understanding and respect for the original performer. Baker?s original tunes reflect his gift with both lyric and melodic compositions and his great sense of humor. The Bakers are accompanied on selected cuts by several well-known acoustic musicians: Howie Bursen on frailing banjo, Kelly Powers on fiddle and accordion, Karen Mueller (International Autoharp Champion) on autoharp, and Madeline MacNeil and Jean Sutton on vocals.
