Album DescriptionRobbie Cooper's CD "Drowning in Reality" is a mixture of sequenced electronic and live music played by some of the finest musicians in the industry. Tony Levin on the Chaphman Stick, known for his studio work with Peter Gabriel and his playing live with Seal. Producer Steve Burgh on guitar, bass, and keys, known for his work on Billy Joel's "Stranger" as well as his work with Willie Nelson and Phoebe Snow. Live horns, contributed by the Uptown Horns, are known for their work with the Rolling Stones, and live strings thicken this already jam packed star-studded CD. Lets not leave out drummer Eric Parker (Joe Cocker, Faith Hill, Warren Zevon) who gives this already rock steady foundation a powerful back drop to Cooper's pleasant sounding melodic vocal style. Besides Robbie's most recent recording and performance ventures he also has a musical past that includes being signed to A&M records with the band 7 Minutes, singer/songwriter in the band Thurman Fry, who was chosen to receive the talent searchfirst ever discovery to disk talent search by Toronto radio station CFNY FM, and also other recording sessions with Muscle Shoals, from Muscle Shoals Alabama. Cooper, a founding member of the very popular Toronto based Over the Garden Wall, has been performing Genesis covers since 1985, and paved the way for a large amount of Genesis clone bands over the last 20 yrs. After 10 very successful years with OTGW, Robbie relocated to Utica, NY and formed the first version of Seconds Out with members of the then popular Syracuse band 805. Coopers new cd is world class, as well as his two others ("the hardway" & "Songs of Serenity: relax unwind and meditate") and has been seeing airplay on several radio stations in Canada as well as Europe, Poland, and the Netherlands. As Cooper explains "The creative process working with such giants in the music industry was an experience I¹ll never forget. I am very excited to take some of my new material and showcase it for the public. We will be adding a few original tracks to our seconds out show. I can¹t wait to perform them in a live setting.
