Battles. We all find ourselves in one eventually. Spiritual living does not come battle free, and sometimes those battles make us feel alone. We, however, are never alone. When Rita Springer started writing for this album, she wanted to create songs that told truths about the battle, yet settled with rest in the victory. So much about battling or fighting has us focusing more on the struggles than on the victories. She wanted to shift that focus by declaring more of who God is rather than what we are asking Him to accomplish on our behalf. Battles was recorded live at the Grand Prairie, Texas campus of Gateway Church. It features brand new songs from fresh collaborations with songwriters such as Kalley Heiligenthal (Bethel Music), David & Nicole Binion (Covenant Worship) and Mia Fieldes (Hillsong Music). This project reveals Rita Springer s heart to engage the church in powerful, presence-driven worship moments with God.
