CD ReviewsA great performance; bonus disc has excellent material Ken | Olathe, KS, U.S.A. | 06/16/2005 (5 out of 5 stars) "This past weekend, I saw Ricochet in concert at FeatherFest in my hometown of Springdale, Arkansas, and right after the performance was over, I went over to the table where the band's merchandise was on display and bought the CD of The Live Album. After having success right from the start in the late '90s, Heath Wright and his bandmates cooled off some in the early part of this decade. However, with one song, "Feel Like Fallin'", which is their first country hit in some time, and another, "That's Love", which was a recent Christian country chart-topper, I think the guys in Ricochet are definitely back on track. This record, recorded live in Las Vegas, is a showcase of Ricochet's best songs. Heath and his bandmates get off to a toe-tapping start with the country-boogie song "Ease My Troubled Mind". They then rock out with "You Still Got It", "When Will I Be Loved"(the Everly Brothers' classic song), "Blink Of An Eye", "I Can't Dance", and the aforementioned "Feel Like Fallin'", their recent hit. Ricochet's climactic performance is their country chart-topper "Daddy's Money", about the guy's infatuation with the girl of his dreams. On "Daddy's Money", not only does Heath get in some great guitar licks, but he and his fellow band members get the audience clapping and singing along with them. When I went to see Ricochet in concert, I was actually singing along with the band on "Daddy's Money". However, Heath and his bandmates are especially strong on their ballads. Several of Ricochet's classic slow songs are on here: "Love Is Stronger Than Pride", "He Left A Lot To Be Desired", and their debut song "What Do I Know". Another great song which was a hit for the band is their remake of the Eagles' song "Seven Bridges Road". Ricochet remains faithful to the Eagles' version of the song, right down to the vocal harmonies and acoustic guitar. "That's Love" is a well-written song about the sacrifices we make for the ones we love. The band closes with a soaring rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner". The Live Album's bonus disc is excellent. It features studio versions of "Feel Like Fallin'", "That's Love", and a third new Ricochet song, "I Knew". In addition, this record's bonus disc is an enhanced CD with some great material. When you put the bonus disc in your computer's CD drive while you are connected to the Internet, one of the links you can click on will take you to the "Feel Like Fallin'" music video. The video, with numerous footage of the guys dancing around on stage, is well-done and fun to watch. Also, there's a lot of behind-the-scenes footage. Included are interviews with the band members, backstage rehearsal scenes, and shots taken inside and outside Ricochet's tour bus. Those who are already fans of Ricochet will enjoy this record's music. If The Live Album is your introduction to Ricochet(as it was for me), not only will you hear a lot of great songs, but you'll like the new tracks and "up close and personal" video footage on the bonus disc. When you put everything together, I think this album's a winner. It's worth listening to--and watching." "LIVE" What a lie!! Nashvegas | Nashville TN | 01/24/2006 (1 out of 5 stars) "There is nothing live about this album! This album was cut in a studio and had applause tracks added... not very good ones I might add. These guys are trying to live off the hits they had when the group was the original members. They should rename themselves, and start over. The instrumentation is not even the same!!! Quite trying to live off the original talent of Ricochet and start new.... or is that why you haven't gotten a deal since the band broke up? Either way horrible album" Ricochet Live Album Nashvegas | 06/19/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "About time these guys are back recording. It has three new songs on it plus a 2nd CD that has the video for Feel Like Fallin. Also interviews with all the guys and a tour of their bus. Great singing, harmonizing. My CD is just about worn out."
