There's a kind of hazy halo like an urban streetlight to this music. Jazz? If so, in spirit, not strict form -- featuring a sweet muted solo jazz trumpet, but also some soft glowing washes of sound underneath, and just the occasional touch of slow-handed percussion.
A beautiful hybrid, minimal on both sides: worthy of the best ambient music, but hip, offhand and occasionally jazzy, too. Anything but trendy.
