(4 out of 5 stars)

"This former axeman of Poison and Mr. Big has released a new solo album through his Japanese record company. Did his former album "Slow" (2001) sound very funky in places, this brand-new "Change" has been blessed with an important change, because Richie sounds rockier again on this one. OK, he still likes to sound soulful and once in a while funky (I have to say that this fits his voice very well), but overall the rock influences are back. That he still can be compared with someone as big as Lenny Kravitz stands like a rock, but I can't say that this sucks! Only the opener and the two last instrumentals could have been left out. These songs are something of a weird mixture between modern rock & thrash funk or even jazzy! Next time , Richie should leave these kind of escapades out, because this could only improve the overall quality of his album(s) and will make his followers more consistent. The rest of the tracklist is more than OK and what I really love is this man's voice. In some situations he almost sounds like Eric Martin! Just listen to his own acoustic version of the former Mr. Big track "Shine" and you will shiver and agree. (Taken From www.RockReport.be)"
Another great one from Richie...maybe his best yet.

"Richie doesn't need Poison or Mr. Big(who I very much like). He is great solo. This is probably one of his finest cd's. Alot of people don't agree, but this is my favorite right after "Slow". I like that he's not afraid to put a few different songs at the end. I enjoy them. He could of left them off or called them bonus tracks, but if your a fan, you want to hear it all."
