Briggs | KSC, Florida & Chengdu, China | 09/19/2007 (5 out of 5 stars) "This CD includes an original Richard Maltby rendition that I have been searching for since the fifties! It has been well worth the fifty-year wait. The "St. Louis Blues Mambo" was my favorite instrumental at the time, as well as that of my girl friend, and it brings back memories in a spectacular fashion.
The recordings of St. Louis Blues Mambo and all other selections on the CD are absolutely flawless, and anyone who appreciates the "big band" recordings from the forties and fifties will love this CD. "Manhattan Bandstand, "Long Island Fling," " and "Manhattan Serenade" represent a very listenable "musical visit" to the Big Apple of the fifties, and "Tara's Theme," "Midnight Mood," "Lover Come Back to Me," "Stardust Mambo," and "Blue Moon" are just spectacular in both the fidelity to the original renditions and the reproduction quality thereof.
