Very Good Stuff!

"There is a lot of good stuff here. Another jazz organ record that can appeal to the non-jazz lovers out there. Its bluesy, its funky, and it flows ever so smoothly. Its a trio record with no bass, as Mr. Holmes takes care of the rytham, bass, and solo on the Hammond B-3 organ all at once...surprise surprise. I consider him the Jimi Hendrix of jazz organ because he can play lead, rytham, and solo at the same time and like Jimi, he follows no rules and dominates every session. This record is not as agressive as his 1969-1973 live recordings, where he really tears it up at every show. It is these live explosive sessions that made me call him the Hendrix of the Hammond B-3 organ. Laserlight seems to be the only music company to release live stuff from early 70's Groove Holmes. The guitar work, by the way is also very good on this album, especially songs one and two. The price is right so I recommend you pick up a copy for yourself...oh yeah, make sure you play it real loud!"

"This makes me want to stop what I'm doing and listen. I'm not even a big jazz guy, but he moves me. Just listen from start to finish, I love it! Good old fashioned playing."
