CD ReviewsBest David Wayne cd ever. christopher shaffar | ft.collins colorado | 12/13/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "this album by far, in my opinion, blows all his previous work including his metal church stuff away. its fast, heavy, and has some great songwriting. the title track has a great intro and alot of melody. theres evena cover of Credance clearwater revival's "fortunate son"! the ironic thing about this cd is his replacement as singer in metal church was Heretic singer mike howe, david recruited the rest of heretic for his band! if your looking for something thats good thrash, you know, the type of music that kicks metallica's new whiny pathetic st.anger ass out the window, buy this!!!!!" David Wayne - the master of metal Gregg Downs | The Great Mid-West | 04/09/2008 (5 out of 5 stars) "This cd is incredible if you love metal church and David Wayne.
My opinion is correct when i say that Dave put his heart and soul into his work, and it shows in this collection of songs. The butcher of Baghdad is the first cut and it is every bit as loud and heavy as his early work with metal church. There are 3 ballad type tracks on this c.d. that have an incredible amount of heart and soul into them, and in no way do the ballads wimp out. The untimely death of David Wayne has left his fans in awe of his extraordinary talent and we are great full to have the collection of art that he has left us. His primal screams in every c.d. are a reflection of his need to bring metal back into the states. The title track Play God is an awesome heavy track that will get played over and over. The production on the album is incredible and ahead of its time. The heavy gate work on the drums and the pounding double base will drive every track right into your eardrums! The price on this CD is hefty for most, but if you are a DAVID WAYNE fan this will be a collectors piece. For the most part this CD has been discontinued by the record label. So when you find one, buy one. You will not be disapointed." |
