Blending together classic American pop and 70's soul with today's avant/indie influences, Reuben shapes the singer-songwriter form into a unique blend of soul-tinged chamber-pop. "Golden Boy" is a lushly orchestrated collection of alternative soul gems and mid-tempo art ballads that thematically harkens back to Reuben Butchart's golden days by the golden gate in the golden state. Co-produced with Noah Simon (Greta Gertler, Eric Andersen, Scout, Bill Frisell), the disc contains 12 original songs, including a soul-stirring duet with Antony of Antony and the Johnsons.
