"Two women, supposedly in a lesbian relationship, playing lo-fi folky music with minimum accompaniment. Could've been a mess or, worse, the second coming of the Indigo Girls, but Retsin's music is refreshingly free of self-pity or overt-politicizing. Instead, what we have is delicately played, hauntingly beautiful , somewhat melancholy music. A little like Freakwater, a little like Nick Drake. Sadly overlooked. This was actually on my top ten list for 2001."
