"It is difficult to put into words exactly how I feel about this piece of music and also this recording of it. Quite simply, it is perfect. The Victoria Requiem in my opinion is one of the greatest pieces of music ever written. Victoria's pallet of musical technique was somewhat smaller than that of composers from later periods yet he is able to conjure up some of the most beautiful, colourful, and moving moments with extraordinary simplicity. I must have heard this recording hundreds of times, yet some of the suspensions in the Kyrie can still move me to tears. Some believe that the crystal like purity of the Tallis Scholars is somewhat clinical in sound. I believe that this purity lets the music speak for itself in a way that perhaps even Victoria himself never dreamt of. I wonder what Victoria would have thought to hear this ethereally crafted performance."

"When I first sang this piece, I fell in love with it. So I searched for a c.d. of it, and fell upon one of the best recordings I have ever heard. The blend of the voices is perfect, the sound and passion of singing will blow you away. Anyone who wants to know what Tallis should sound like, this is it. A lover of Tallis, or anyone with musical taste should buy this, and you will love it!!"
